Clothes and Colours

Friday 9th May

Hello everybody!

Everybody except Raúl, because he didn’t come to class. But today Ángela and David came to class.
Ángela was not very well but now she is fine. And David was away from Madrid but today he is here, too.

We started the class playing “Hot Potato” to revise vocabulary from previous lessons: the house and the body.

The game is like this: you have a ball in your hands. Then you have to say a word (rooms, colours, food, etc. the teacher choses the topic) and after that, you throw the ball to your classmate and he or she does the same. We set one minute time. If the time finishes or your classmate repeats the word or can’t find a word, then, he or she loses and is out!

It was funny! Remember that you “throw the ball to” your classmate not “ throw the ball at” (aggressively) your classmate”.

We learnt the names of clothes and coloured some pictures.

What is this? It’s a red T-shirt.
What are these? They are black shoes.
What are these? They are blue jeans.
What are those? They are yellow socks.

What colour is the skirt? It’s blue and white.
What colour are the trousers? They are purple.
What colour are your trainers? They are black and white.

We also listened to a funny song “Where are the clothes?” You can listen to it again, on this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFWm1sUCD_g
We played numbers with first, second, third etc.

Do you remember these numbers? They tell us who is number 1, 2, 3 etc. and we use them to say the dates. Our next class is on Friday 16th (sixteenth)

first            1st       fourth          4th          seventh    7th
second     2nd       fifth              5th          eighth       8th          tenth     10th
third          3rd       sixth            6th          ninth         9th

eleventh   11th     fourteenth 14th        seventeenth 17th
twelfth      12th     fifteenth      15th        eighteenth    18th    twentieth 20th
thirteenth 13th     sixteenth    16th        ninteenth       19th

We haven’t learnt to write these numbers yet. Only from first to tenth!

And we finished the class playing “bingo” with clothes.
In our next class we’ll play “pairs” and we’ll learn more things!

Is Your Hair Long? Are Your Eyes Blue?

Friday 25th April

Hello!

You had very nice Easter holidays. Me, too. Thank you!
And next week we don’t have class. Holiday again!!

Where are Ángela and David? They are not in class today.
‘What did you say?’ ‘Ah! It is possible that they are on an excursion’.

We played a game with instructions.

·         Touch your hair.                            Remember: touch, close, pinch, raise
·         Close your eyes.                            right / left
·         Touch your mouth.
·         Touch your ears.
·         Raise your right arm.
·         Raise your left arm.
·         Touch your nose.
·         Pinch your cheeks.
·         Raise your left leg.
·         Raise your right leg.
·         Touch your neck.

Then, we played a game describing the faces of four children.

Look at ‘A’. What does he look like?
His hair is curly and brown. His skin is dark. His eyes are brown.
What does ‘C’ look like?
Her hair is long and brown. Her eyes are brown. Her skin is pale.
What does ‘D’ look like?
Her hair is short and fair. Her eyes are blue. Her skin is pale.
What does ‘B’ look like?
His hair is long and fair. His eyes are blue. His skin is pale.

Remember: ‘his’ for a boy; ‘her’ for a girl. His hair is / his eyes are
